SELECTING & CUTTING THE GLASS

I generally use a selection of Antique, Cathedral and Spectrum glass to gain the desired affect in my work. Variables will depend on the mood of the scene and the setting for the commission. In older properties it is better to use a glass which is in keeping with the period. The glass type, colour and texture will be discussed at the design stage.

The next stage is the cutting process. This involves utilizing the most suitable parts of the sheet glass to flow with the design and create a complementary relationship with the design and other glass other sections.

Once each section has been carefully selected and cut to size, some adjustment and refining is made using a glass grinding machine.
