CHIHUAHUA BOO ON STAINED GLASS
Boo is my latest stained glass commission project. The Mummy and Daddy (Owners) of Boo wanted a Roundel to display their Chihuahua in all her glory. Along with a 22nd Anniversary and a story of images that tell their year in pictures. The initial process involved getting a good clear photo of Boo, knowing fine details such as the colour of her eyes and fine details.

A story of the past 12 months surrounds the pencil artwork drawing of Boo, locations they had visited and images of their home town. The next process is where the stained glass skill and concept comes together, also choosing the right colours, intricate cutting and design work of fine detail such as hair, eyes, background and then beginning to create each piece of glass.

CREATING THE ROUNDEL BY PLACING THE GLASS TOGETHER
Finally after many days of work it’s time to piece together the design after choosing colours and creating the design drawings, in preparation of firing, leading and polishing. The Stained Glass Roundel pet gift is a montage of a memorable year for the couple and is almost complete.
The many stages of design for our Commissioned Artwork and Unique Pet Gift “Boo” the blonde Chihuahua. Each piece with additional detail added as the process of detail is added with brushes, wire, stick to create the finer details. The eyes are yet another important factor of detail, especially getting the colour correct. When trying to get detail of fur or hair onto glass such as Boo takes years of skill.
READY FOR FIRING, LEADING & POLISHING
Pet Chihuahua Boo is finally ready for leading and polishing with a few more details to add on the outer roundel glass pieces and then we will blog our final piece ready to present to the proud owners making a unique and memorable memory of such a beautiful dog and fabulous celebration year. The Stained Glass Commission Artwork has gone extremely well with the initial pencilled drawing of Boo and choice of colour by client.
