My recent commission is named Mr Hare of Bute in Scotland, i’m delighted to say the project has gone well and progress is made as Mr Hare receives his head and a pair of large ears.
The UK is well known for being a popular location for the traditional British Hare. Obtaining the colour of the animals we put onto glass can sometimes be the very time consuming art, once I am happy with colour and contrast of light I then proceed to putting the design together, literally glass piece by piece.
The design usually takes approximately one week to create. Once the design has been agreed I can then send a copy of it for closer inspection. This copy can be placed in the chosen setting to gain an idea of how it will look. I use the original design as a template to cut the glass and as a trace guide for the painted detail.
